Quality Assurance Engineer

ABB is seeking Quality Assurance Engineer for it's Mount Pleasant location. You will plan, direct and support activities to assess and provide root cause analyses and corrective action implementation for High Voltage Apparatus supplier quality problems. You will also provide primary support to the Quality Management for implementing and maintaining Quality Assurance programs including the ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001.

Tasks:
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Coordinate continued evaluation of procedures and documentation throughout the Site and Product Line, especially in the areas of incoming inspection, assembly and testing; evaluate for completeness, accuracy, and lack of redundancy.
Facilitate in-house Quality Assurance and manufacturing improvement programs.
Support and lead corrective action development and implementation for supplier quality issues. Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions to improve supplier quality performance.
Assist Product Line Managers and Quality Assurance Team as it pertains to root cause investigations and corrective action projects.
Perform Field Incident Report data analyses and identify trends for Preventive Actions for the Supplier Quality Assurance section and the Quality Assurance Department.
Assist in assuring that Quality Records are generated, retained, stored, protected and disposed according to Site and Company policy.
Assume major responsibility for the preparation of quality assurance studies, specifications, purchase related documents, technical reports, proposals, scorecards, safety and related documents. Plan, perform or assist in complex supplier quality evaluations, audits, surveillance, document reviews and unique problem analysis.
Under limited direction, perform complex quality assurance assignments requiring diversified knowledge of engineering, manufacturing and quality assurance to cost effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives.
Proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction.
Review, trend, and close-out supplier nonconformities and incidents.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5+ years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years' experience in a High Voltage Equipment Manufacturing Environment
ASQ CQE and CQA certifications preferred
Knowledge of Aluminum Casting, Machining, Fabrication and Injection Molding processes
Developed computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and SAP MRP/ERP systems
Requires ability to interpret product drawings using GD&T and ISO 1101 Standards
Experienced in performing Supplier Evaluation Audits.
Requires excellent communication skills to negotiate effectively with suppliers, customers and internal groups, and ability to coordinate activities involving diverse technical disciplines
Local to Mount Pleasant, PA preferred
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
